Masterclass announcement

The Chamber Choir is thrilled to announce that Owain Park will be leading a masterclass with the choir on Wednesday 27th February in the Music Department Concert Room between 6:30pm-8pm. Owain will be working with the choir on repertoire included in our concert on Saturday 2nd March in Durham Cathedral’s Chapter House. A main feature of this concert is Owain’s composition, Footsteps, which was commissioned by Tenebrae and first performed on 18th May 2017 in Hull at Holy Trinity Church by Tenebrae, directed by Nigel Short. Conductor Auditions 2019

Durham University Chamber Choir Conductor Auditions Durham University Chamber Choir are now accepting applications to conduct the society in the 2019-20 academic year. The choir consists of 24 of Durham’s finest choral singers and is auditioned annually. Reputed for its high standards of singing and musicianship, the choir performs regularly throughout the year in venues such as the Cathedral Chapter House, St Godric’s Church and Durham Castle. All applicants must be students at Durham University (undergraduate or postgraduate) and resident in Durham during term time for the next academic year. No formal conducting experience is required.
