Eva is a Music finalist in St Chad’s College and is thrilled to be returning for her third year of singing with the Chamber Choir.
During her time at Durham, she has been involved in a wide range of choral activities, including participation with DUCS, Dunelm Consort, St Chad’s College Chapel Choir and, most significantly, her position as Alto Choral Scholar at Durham Cathedral.
Before University, Eva was both a chorister and an alto choral scholar at Ripon Cathedral and has performed in broadcasts on BBC Radio 3, gone on international tours, and collaborated with Cathedral Choirs across the UK. Eva was a student on the Junior programme at the Royal Northern College of Music (2020-2023), where she studied Voice with Linda Richardson and was the Rotary Young Musician of the Year 2023 Winner for voice.
Helena is a third-year Biological Sciences student at St Aidan’s College heading into her second year with the Chamber Choir.
Alongside Chamber Choir, she sings with the Chapel Choir of University College and was a choral scholar at St Chad’s College during her first year.
Before university, Helena was Head Chorister of St Andrew’s Church Choir, where she now returns as a soloist, and sang with her school’s chamber and chapel choirs, performing at venues across the UK and Europe, including a world premiere at the Royal Albert Hall. Although involved in choral music, she was principally a flautist, studying under Ian Clarke.
Helena can’t wait to meet this year’s new singers and help make the coming year a brilliant one for the choir!
